Being Natively Sustainable

Sustainability from the Ground Up
At Sheep Inc., sustainability isn’t a feature we added — it’s embedded in our DNA. Before the first stitch was made, before the first sheep was selected, we envisioned a brand where every decision was guided by having a positive impact. Here’s how we built on this commitment:
Wholly Holistic
Sustainability isn’t just about carbon footprints or eco-friendly packaging. For us, it encompasses every aspect of our business – from farm to finish. Our supply chains, the farming techniques, the manufacturing processes, and even our business partnerships are chosen based on their adherence to uncompromising sustainable practices.
Beyond Neutral – We’re Positive
For us, it’s not enough to just leave no trace. We actively seek to make things better. From rejuvenating the earth with regenerative farming to ensuring animal welfare that looks at happiness and comfort, we take measures to ensure that we give back more than we take.
Data-Driven Decisions
Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond just intentions. We rigorously measure our impact, working with third parties like Carbon Footprint Ltd. to ensure impartiality. This data-led impact assessment keeps us accountable and transparent.
Genuine Over Jargon
While “buy local, buy better” has a ring to it, we prioritise data over taglines. Our choice to source wool from regenerative New Zealand farms yields a carbon impact of -14kg CO2e per kg of wool, sharply contrasting with an average UK farms’ 20-30 kg of CO2 per kg. Even with total transport’s 0.8kg CO2e per kg of wool factored in, our data-led approach emerges as the clear victor. Our commitment is to genuine, measurable impact over marketable rhetoric.

Foundational, Not Optional

Many brands now add sustainability as a response to consumer demand. For us, it wasn’t about answering a market need. It was baked into our foundational thinking. To create a brand that we believed should exist, one that puts the planet before, profit.
